Last few days…

I hope everyone had a Hoppy Easter.. yes I did spell that correctly…
Lots of interesting things going on the last few days..
First my now ex supervisor was acting like a total asshole to me as he is going to have to find someone else to do his fucking job for him. Second he knows now not only is he going to look bad on his own, but with no one around to catch his bullshit he is going to endure all new problems.
I pretty much told him he was on his own the last couple of days I worked for him after he was acting like a jerk.
So… when the scheduled work week ended I did not have a schedule for the following week. So I enjoyed a nice three days off work before someone finally called me to give me a schedule.. now I will be spending the rest of my week in Lee Summit for training.. I am only annoyed by this as it is a thirty minute drive both ways… grrrrrrrr…. whatever tho part of being promoted.. can’t complain..
Yesterday the I took the wife and kid to Applebee’s for lunch. We had this waiter whom started out ok, but turned into a complete jerk after he messed up one of the orders. It’s simple really, when a customer orders an appetizer you serve it before the rest of the meal. Since that was not how it went down and he served the appetizer with the meal we sent it back.
The waiter instead of just letting it go.. comes over and picks a fight. I am fucking serious!! He argues with Vanessa over how the appetizers were asked to be served and I just looked up and asked; “Did he just give us attitude?” Apparently it was loud enough the manager heard me and he appears all apologetic about the mistake.
I explained to him that it was not the fact the appetizers should have been served sooner but the fact the asshole came over and started arguing with us about it. I assured the manager if my kid was not at the table it would have been a much uglier scenereo.
The manager kissed my ass took off the appetizers.. (no shit) and gave us ten dollars off our bill. I think I am still going to contact their corp office since they are our “hometown” company and let them know whats up… I sure the fuck am not going back….
My Telenav subscription expired.. I only care because it was free. I am debating on whether or not I want to try and get in touch with the rep whom hooked us up, or just sell my little bluetooth adapter thingy on ebay.
Oh yeah!! At my mothers duplex the cable companies (time warner and Everest) installers have been fucking up my parents service (tw) and they were not able to get internet or TV. I had this installer from TW out whom off the bad gave me attitude but started to loosen up. While he and I were trying to figure out what the hell was going on, an Everest installer showed up for the neighbor to set up their internet phone.
I basically make the two installers figure the shit out and make them both re wire my mothers shit since it was fine for the last fifteen or so years when I set it up. It was fine until they BOTH fucked up the wiring… oh yeah and why did I make Everest help fix the wire?? BECAUSE THEY CUT MY PARENTS TIME WARNER LINE GOING INTO THE HOUSE!!
Fortunately the Everest guy was cool, I think he knew I could pursue legal action if I wanted to.. plus I made Everest installer document the incident in case TW tries to charge my parents I will have them bill Everest. If people would just leave shit alone there would have never been a problem… *shrugs*
Still playing with Linux… got it on both machines.. still … runs great on both machines.. still… although I am having a hell of a time trying to get the wireless adapter to work on the notebook.
If anyone out there knows how and can tell me how to get it going drop me a note.. I am stuck…
So other then playing on Linux, and fighting with restaurants while anticipating my work schedule, I have been basically playing emulators, and hanging out with the fam…

Yesterday was decision time.. keep nowayinhell.net or part ways and move on… I wasn’t ready to give up staining the internet just yet… so I renewed nowayinhell for another year…. I should just go with subscriptions longer then a year and not mess with it .. but whatever…

After months of trying to find a way out of the position I was working and get an opportunity to advance at my job I finally get moved up. I am no longer a tech bench guy I am now the supervisor of the computers department.
I still have to work with my supervisor but not as his subordinate but as his equal. This will be nice as I am really tired of doing his job. I could go on and on but really.. who gives a shit. I have been moved up baby!!
More money!! w00p!! and I get bonuses now… hell yeah…
Very excited about all of this.. since my promotion was announced people seem to be pretty happy for me also.. I have received a lot of kudos. I am sure there is a person or two out there hating on me but that’s life..
Moving past work… I have been really lovin Ubuntu. I nearly have the desktop exactly where I want it as far as settings. My browser is configured the way I had it in winblows (Firefox rocks), most of the applications I used in winblows I have in linux… (oh yeah and its free) .. if I could find a blogger for linux like blog desk I would so be done with winblows.
I joked about setting up Vanessa’s computer onto Linux but I just received a dirty look… *laughs* my notebook will be next to be windows free.. I just need to make sure that all the drivers are supported, etc.
I did try SP1 for Vista.. ok it runs a little better.. but … never mind I just farted..
I cannot think of a time where I hate windows as much as I do right now… I am just so tired of the bullshit.. oh and my desktop runs so much fucking faster on linux!!!! AGAIN!! FUCK WINDOWS!
Umm so more money is a good thing…. Windows is a bad thing.. and I need to find where to download writemyblog for linux since the website is down…

What is this?? A second post in a day?? Well I am sure the first one might be more interesting.. *shrugs* but that is ok.. *laughs* so a while back I went on this huge linux kick and installed Ubuntu on my notebook, etc.. etc..
All though I really do not have any Vista problems with the notebook since it runs like a champ with the amount of ram I have, but I still wanted Ubuntu to work. Well it does.. but for whatever reason I could never get the wireless to work. So after fucking around with downloading the “right” drivers and installing a couple of third party apps, I finally got the wireless to work!! *thumbs up*
I have to admit I am still windows a little here and there so I can play my GTA Vice City online, etc because sorry … Wine does not run that great for games…
I think the wife is starting to miss the kid… she has been gone … two days now I think??? *laughs* that is pretty bad when I don’t remember when she left. I am sure she is having a good time tho…
I am VERY glad I am also off tomorrow… I was not too pleased when I had to go into work on my day AGAIN. This time around I think I was only there about an hour.. but it is the principle.. when you are off.. you are off you don’t want to go to work for ANYTHING until it is time to return to work. *shrugs*

The Rum Diaries…

So .. today really fucking sucked… I reached a point of pissed off I can say I haven’t been in several years.. It was bad… not braggin… just bad.
With the wonderful reliability of Windows, I started to re image the desktop because for whatever reason it started to crap out. This was after I learned I had a fucked up stick of ram.. whatever…
So I run an image program and I chose the wrong fucking drive. I selected the external hard drive.. the one which had … all my pictures… documents.. itunes music… all of it … I was PISSED!!!
Once I regained sanity, I thanked my lucky stars I signed up for a Geeksquad online data back up where most of my pictures.. or better all of my important ones… were backed up.. THANK FUCKING GOD!
The documents I have backed up to a CD somewhere… but I lost my GTA VC saved games.. and like I said my itunes… NOT A HAPPY READHEAD…
Thankfully for whatever reason … I decided to use the online backup tool through Geeksquad.. and I didn’t loose my pictures… not the important ones. Am I endorsing Geeksquad? Yes…
So … Shawn and I stopped by my moms and fixed a belt and some other fucking part I can’t even tell you what it was but at least that is taken care of.. *sighs* I went into the basement to grab us a couple of drinks and I found a nice little stash of Rum I had left in the fridge. I told Shawn before we leave do not let me forget the rum.. very important… need some rum… after we left .. the rum was still in the fridge..
Perhaps next time I go by there… or I think I might have to make a special trip over there just for the Rum…
If I had Rum now I would have probably already drank most of the bottle which probably wouldn’t have been a good idea I am sure …
Oh yeah… so since I lost my images and shit .. the ones I boasted about how awesome it was to have? I have decided to move back to Linux… I got Ubuntu running on my desktop now, but I have not really had a chance to configure it yet… I figure fuck it … I will get it to run what is important from there.. and say fuck windows… now if I could get a working copy of linux on my notebook I would be set.. I tried installing Linux on here once before but the video card and other drivers dint seem to like me too well… perhaps I will look into that soon … doubt it .. Vista doesn’t piss me off that bad… yet…
I will just have to get remote desktop set up again and since I have no idea how to do that… I am sure it will be fun….
I still really like the whole print server idea … it will make it easy for me to get the printer to work with Linux without having to jack with print sharing, etc.
I didn’t hear anything from work today.. that kind of makes me nervous..
God Dammit… I cannot believe I forgot the rum…
Network Printing.. Ringerpost Returning? … Perhaps third time is the charm??!!??

I ordered a few things off of ebay.. such as more ram for my entertainment computer, and a network printer server meee bober…
The network printing will come in handy since we would not have to rely on the family computer or i.e. Ami’s computer to print our shit from other computers since usually no one uses the “family” computer but Ami.
So … I picked up one of these servers.. and I was going to use the multifunction printer on the print server but oh no.. fuck no.. HP can’t have that shit… so I decided to go with the laser since I picked one up from Radioshack shortly before I left. It’s an Oki Data which is a pretty decent printer, fortunately it can work with the HP4M laser jet drivers.
Now most of the machines are not set up to connect through the router… *thumbs up*
So for whatever reason I decided to not give up on Ringerpost.com. It has been a kickass website for quite a while for downloading insane amounts of shit for your phone. I was using another website called cellfiles but they just do not hold a candle to the gang @ ringerpost. I await their return. I have sent them an email to offer my assistance with anything.
For the last couple of weeks at work there has been some things stirring around about a possibility of getting promoted to a supervisor position. I kind of hinted computers, but nothing was concrete until last week.
Today was my interview with the management team. Over the last couple of weeks they seemed to prepare me, give me pointers, etc. I think I did awesome in the interview. I am not too worried about two of the three whom interviewed for the same position but some mystery asshole from another store applied last minute last night and I will be fucking PISSED if he gets it. I am not up for any dejavu…
Hopefully I can get my friend Jason on board there. It would be nice to have another ex shacker around the place. *smiles*
I think that is it for now, I am going to go install Linux once again… w00p!

Beverly Hills, 90210 Spin-Off in the Works Oh please!! The original show infected the networks for like what ten years? Whatever.. I am sure they will like relate the show somehow to Tori Spelling as she would be the only one dumb enough to want to be in a remake I am sure.
The original show sucked and so did she.. so… it would be perfect!!
I mean let’s make shit like this and cancel shows like Las Vegas, Studio 60, Birds Of Prey, or whatever.. I am still pissed there has been no word on whether or not Sarah Connor Chronicles is returning… every time I get a show I like some asshole network cancels it with in the first season.
*Extends Middle Finger* they always replace stuff I like with some “new” reality series some asshole ripped off from over seas…. How about something like “temptation fuck you!” a show based on where I am tempted to find these execs and tell them what I think before I ram their tie up their ass or something … *shrugs*
Too much anger… perhaps it is because for some crazy ass fucking reason I am listening to Michael Jackson.. thanks last FM!!

Like everyone else in the world I hate being sick! To me one of the worst illness to have is the “common cold” it makes you sleepy and sneezy and grumpy .. it is as tho your gene’s have been spliced with some of the dwarfs.
Oh yeah and when drinking lots of oj and taking vitamins, it makes me have to piss a lot too… kind of annoying if you ask me… since you are reading this you kind of did… *smirks*
Chalk another thing I love about Treo… I hate trying to create my own ring tones. Modifying a song and trimming it down to 30 seconds is never really the issue, it is making it compatible with your phone. Knowing my phone supported MP3 ringers, I decided to research how to make them work.
Once I found the proper application and registered, I was able to start assigning all kinds of tones for the phone.. *smiles*
Fuck searching for ringers, fuck sprintusers.com, fuck mixxer.com, and any other website which acts like a bunch of retards about memberships, what files you can upload, convert, etc.
I have been playing around with another program I downloaded to my phone called IMPlus. It’s a pretty kick ass little im program. It supports all the instant messenger apps including myspace messenger. Not that I really give two happy shits about myspace or myspace IM but what I do like is how much more clean the layout is over mundu.
Oh yeah.. and I also grabbed chattermail. This program kicks versa mails ass! Cleaner and much easier set ups for IMAP email accounts. I have slowly moved all my emails over to IMAP usage for no other reason then POP has been pissing me off.
Over time I have become quite fond of gmail. Their spam control is quite impressive. I have been so impressed even that I have forwarded all of my domain and misc email addresses to this account. No spam is good!!
I tend to forget some members of my family are not that “techie”. I was spending time with my grand parents yesterday and they were telling me how tired they were of getting phone calls from Telemarketers. Just before I opened my mouth asking why they have not registered their phone number on the no call list, I realized they wouldn’t even know what that was not alone have a computer to register with.
I just smiled and told them I would take care of that for them.. *smiles*

Off and on for the last few weeks I have been trying to find a simple less gay way for me to be able to access my itunes securely over the internet so I can jam out to my music while I am sitting in front of Ami’s dance place or at the internet cafe, whatever..
Some how I found this website, Simplify Media it allows me to set up an account on my desktop at home, then I install a client on my notebook. Then I load itunes on my notebook, and it will load my entire play list from my itunes at home.
It’s pretty freakin sweet!! Finally if you have friends with this installed on their computer you can invite them and you can share your play lists over the internet with them, and vice versa…

A couple of weeks ago I decided after almost four years of service I terminated my account with Sirius satellite radio. If you have been a reader on here for a while, you should remember the battles I had with Sirius most notably them losing my credit card. Anyway I figure since I do not have my truck or a solid mode of transportation or a working radio receiver, I would cancel my subscription.
After being on hold forever and playing hell trying to get to the correct extension I just decided to say; “fuck it”. The woman I spoke to on the phone was even an bitch and didn’t even seem to really care I was canceling so whatever.
With in the last two weeks, they have called my mothers phone (as it was the number I gave them for contact.. hee hee) at least three times, and I have received two emails from them asking me to come back. Amused by how crappy my experiences have been with them I decided to write them a brief response to their email. In short I asked why I should come back? Why only after I have left does anyone in their company give a shit about me being a customer? It is going to take them more then giving me two months of service to want to come back.
Through work I can get a hell of a deal on XM receivers and I believe a discount on the services so Sirius is going to have to give me some head for me to want to return.
Recently I was doing some cleaning and I found a boom box cd / tape player. After the wife, kid and I agreed there was really no use for it. I thought my mother would want it since she likes to listen to music while she is at work. When I gave her the radio yesterday the first thing out of her mouth was not thank you, fuck you, it was, “Does this thing work?” I guess it was kind of a fuck you… but still.. At first I told her, “Nope but when I think of my love for you busted ass radio’s come to mind.”
Oh yeah.. and have you ever seen a computer with over 30,000 infections? I have…
HOW IN THE FUCK???!!!! Do you get that many infections on your computer??? I was in tears laughing so hard!! I am sure the owner of this computer didn’t find it near as amusing as I did …
If they had this .. they would have been protected?
I doubt it….
LOL … they probably would have had more infections with Norton on there if that was even possible… or did they already have Norton… I am sure this person learned a very expensive lesson.
Wild Cherry M&M’s and Norton Anything…

I hate being sick… hopefully I will feel well enough to return to work tomorrow. I have a lot of shit going on and I need to be there….
Out of anticipation of trying something new from the folks at Mars, the creators of the M&M candies, my wife and I each try a bag of the new “Limited Edition” M&M’s.
With the track record in the past M&M’s we figured what the hell. We each grab a bag, open them up pop a couple in our mouths… and we spat them back out.
They were terrible… It reminded me of the time my friend Troy tried a peach tea from Sonic and he threw the drink out the window and spat out the mouth ful he had. He never wasted anything, neither to do I.
I gave them to Ami to try since kids will generally eat anything. A few minutes pass, and she too came back with her half open bag of wild cherry disasters. He face was all wrenched up muttering; “Do I have to finish these?”
I gave the last bag to my mother whom referred to the candies as “expired cheap cherry candies you give to someone as a gift whom you really do not like very much.”
Thankfully these candies are “Limited” as they are awful and I would only give them to someone as a prank or a fuck you gift.
Norton… Norton… Norton… What can I say about this product… I have two separate thoughts about this company.
First, they suck the sweat off a dead man’s balls.. their shit is so terrible I just want to break something every time I see a computer with their horrible dog shit software installed on it. I have never seen a product that is so completely fucked in my entire life!
The idea is to “protect” your computer when in reality they make you feel like you need to put on protection the next time you use their stuff as you will feel like you were as fucked by a gang of baboons. They not only slow down the fastest of computer to the point where the processor itself wants to commit suicide, but the only virus the programs ever catch is itself as the program is a fucking virus!!
Secondly.. I love this program because I make lots of money off of people whom have that shit on their computer. Once I remove satans software and release the computer from the tortuous pits of oblivion (i.e. uninstall Norton and remove it clean from the registry, etc.) their computer reaches a point of almost Eutopia. The customer is happy, and I made my money!!
Is it evil… or a necessary evil… depends on what hat I am wearing.. the money bucks hat says thank you Norton for being such a fucking miserable terror or doom and shattering operating systems hope of every working correctly. Cause every week I get legions of customers begging me to fix their shit.
If I am wearing the god dammit I have to fix this shit and make no money what so ever off of the deal hat then I picture myself somewhat like Mobey Dick. I just wish I could harpoon in to the heart of evil that is Norton and freeing everyone in the world from ever having to be plagued from their shitty ass software forever!!
Want to know what I think of McAfee??? Replace the word Norton with the word McAfee.. and the feelings will be extremely similar.
